Our Vision/Beliefs

Our Vision/History

The Vision at Faith Ministries Center Church is very simple:

    • Equipping the saints for the work of the ministry.

    • To develop and pursue a ministry of reconciliation.

    • To be a light to our city.

    • To take the gospel to the world.

    • To express compassion and love to a hurting, sick, dying, and lost generation.

2013 is “The Year For Imaginative Opportunities and the Year of Imaginative Possibilities”. This is the year we need to imagine BIG!!!
Be Blessed!

Faith Ministries Center began in 1985. It was started in the home of Pastor David Spearman, where there were three families in attendance.

In our first few years we met in various locations until we bought our first building in 1988. It was a small church building located on three acres of land behind a housing development. Even though it was hidden from view and off the main roads, the church still managed to grow and attract people eager to hear the gospel of Christ. During that time, Sis. Donna Spearman was ordained into the office of Prophet and signs, wonders and miracles begin to increase in the ministry.

On Christmas Day of 1994, FMCC held it’s first church service in it’s new facility, a 20,000 sq.ft. historical church building. Six blocks from downtown Grand Rapids and on the corner of two main streets. God has richly blessed us as we continue to grow and prosper in the anointing of God.

    What We Believe

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:7 “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

It is clear, without the new birth experience, there is no life nor relationship with GOD. It is the nature of sin working in us that separates us from GOD.

    John 3:17,18
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
v. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

The LORD is not slack concerning His promises, as some count slackness, but is long suffering towards us, not willing that any perish, but all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

    Repent of rebellion towards GOD.
Repent of sin in your life.
Repent of your attitude towards Jesus Christ.

    Proverbs 28:13
“He that covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

    1 John 1:9
“If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Romans 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth the LORD Jesus and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Acts 16:33

OBEDIENCE: In obedience, following the LORD’S example, you bear testimony of your confidence in the Gospel; of your submission to Him; and your dependence on His authority.

FAITH: You exhibit to the world a repentant and generated heart pardoned of sin. Water baptism is the expression of your faith and is a declaration of the fact that Christ has provided the only way of Salvation.

IDENTIFICATION: According to Romans 6:3-9 we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus through Water Baptism.

COVENANT TOKEN: Water Baptism is a public token that you are now in covenant with GOD through Jesus. It is ferried to as the circumcision of Christ who performs spiritual surgery in cutting away carnal flesh.

But when the kindness and the love of GOD our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
 Titus 3:6

That abundance comes by the baptism in the Holy Spirit, an experience separate from and subsequent to salvation. Just prior to His ascension, Jesus told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they received the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, is a baptism of POWER.

Guide you in to all truth. John 16:13
Purify, revive, and renew your soul. Matt. 3:12
Provide access to all the gifts of the Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:8

Speaking to GOD, spirit to Spirit. 1 Cor. 14:2
Building up your faith. Jude 1:20
Praying the perfect will of GOD. Rom. 8:26,27

Your fellowship is no longer to be with this world. You have been redeemed and made part of the household of GOD.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, your fellowship now has a new direction and a new dimension.

With the Body of Christ: “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God..” Ephesians 2:19

With Your Heavenly Father: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3

Your primary fellowship with GOD will come through your time in prayer and your time spent in mediating upon and studying GOD’S Word.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8
